Advanced Nitrox and Decompression Procedures, taught together the way they were designed. This combined program runs over 3 days aboard the Marissa in San Diego, with all of your ocean training dives off the boat, and you leave with two TDI certifications: Advanced Nitrox for any mix from EAN 21 to 100% oxygen, and Decompression Procedures for planned staged decompression dives to 150 feet. Boat charters, your nitrox and oxygen fills, and technical rental gear are included in the price. You'll need your own mask, fins, boots, and snorkel, and you'll handle your own travel and lodging.

Veterans can put their GI Bill toward their training, and families can use ESA or ClassWallet funds. See if you qualify.

Advanced Nitrox gives you the high-oxygen gases, and Decompression Procedures teaches you to plan and run the staged stops that use them, so TDI built the two to be taken as a pair. We teach the whole program in San Diego, classroom and ocean dives together, and you finish with both cards and the foundation for every technical course that comes after.

What it unlocks

  • Dive any mix from EAN 21 through 100% oxygen
  • Plan and execute staged decompression dives to a maximum depth of 150 ft / 45 m
  • Qualify to move on to Extended Range, Advanced Wreck, Trimix, and rebreather training

What you'll learn

  • The physics of high oxygen partial pressures, plus CNS and pulmonary oxygen toxicity limits
  • Decompression planning: stop depths, stop times, ascent gas, and gas selection
  • Oxygen-clean equipment, cylinder labeling, and gas analysis
  • Contingency planning for omitted decompression

In-water skills

  • Precise buoyancy and horizontal trim while holding a stop
  • Gas switches at depth between back gas and deco gases

The whole course runs over 3 days aboard the Marissa in San Diego, so your decompression dives are real ocean dives off the boat, with the depth this certification is built for. Charters, gas fills, and tech rental gear are covered, and we'll help you sort out what to bring from home.
