Questions we hear a lot
What is a scuba skills workshop?
A workshop is a small-group pool session for certified divers who want to practice and improve specific skills. There is no exam, no homework, and no certification. An instructor is in the water with you the whole time, and sessions are held at our facility in Queen Creek, Arizona.
Do I need to be certified to join a workshop or gear demo?
Yes. Workshops need an existing certification in the skill you want to practice. Open Water covers the foundational clinics, and rescue clinics require a Rescue Diver certification. Gear demos are open to certified divers of any level. If you are not certified yet, call us at (480) 881-4013 and we will help you find the right first step.
What can I try at a scuba gear demo?
You can try full face masks, regulators, BCDs, and DPVs (underwater scooters) in the pool, plus sidemount and backmount technical setups. Our brand demos rotate, so tell us what you are curious about when you book and we will have it ready.
Can Divemasters practice here?
Yes. Divemasters and Divemasters in training can work on demonstration-quality skills in a workshop, with an instructor coaching and giving feedback.
What should I bring?
Bring your own mask, fins, boots, and snorkel. We provide the demo gear, and weights and tanks are included for workshops. Wetsuits are available if you need one.
Do I need to book ahead?
Yes. Sessions stay small on purpose so everyone gets real time in the water, so please reserve your spot. Check our calendar for dates or call the shop at (480) 881-4013.
