Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to be certified to join a guided charter? Yes — a valid open water certification is required to dive on our Lake Pleasant charters. Not certified yet? We can help with that too. Ask us about our SDI Open Water Diver course.

What's included in the charter price? The charter fee covers your guided dives with a Dive Arizona dive professional. Tanks and weights are included, scuba equipment rental is available and is booked separately. If you have your own gear, bring it.

Can I rent equipment through Dive Arizona? Yes. We offer full scuba equipment rentals at the shop. Just let us know when you sign up that you'll need rental gear so we can have everything ready for your charter day.

What gear do I need to bring? At minimum you'll need a wetsuit, mask, fins, BCD, regulator, and a dive computer or watch. If you're renting from us, we'll sort out the details when you book. Don't forget your certification card and a logbook if you have one.

How deep is Lake Pleasant? Depth varies by dive site and water levels, but Lake Pleasant offers recreational diving well within open water limits. Our dive pros will brief you on what to expect at each site before you get in the water.

What's the water like at Lake Pleasant? Visibility and temperature vary by season. Arizona summers warm the water up nicely, while winter dives call for a heavier wetsuit. Our team can give you a current conditions update when you book.
