Travis Reid
It started when my wife, Sierra, wanted to dive on our vacation to St. Maarten. I told her to sign us up. Our open water dives at Lake Pleasant were a rush on their own, but nothing prepared me for that first dive in the clear blue water of the Caribbean. Seeing that marine life up close hooked me on the spot.
Since then Sierra and I have chased dives everywhere we can, from the Caribbean to Mexico to California, plus shark dives in Florida. Every trip is another check off the bucket list, and now a lot of the fun is building my skills and earning the certifications that open up even more places to explore.
Diving pulled me into underwater photography too, and I'm always trying to come back with a better shot than the last trip. Teaching has been about handing that same excitement to new divers and watching it click for them the way it did for me.
When I'm free you'll usually find me at the lake, jumping in to help with open water classes or cleaning up the bottom so it stays nice for the next divers. This has become a big part of my life, and I'm always up for wherever it takes me next.
