Arizona ESA Families: Use Your ClassWallet Funds to Get Your Child Scuba Certified

Your child's ESA funds can go further than curriculum and tutoring. Dive Arizona is an approved Arizona Empowerment Scholarship Account (ESA) vendor, which means eligible families can use their ClassWallet funds to get their kids scuba certified right here in Queen Creek.

Scuba diving isn't just an activity. It's hands-on science, physical education, and water safety wrapped into one of the most memorable experiences a kid can have.

What Is the Arizona ESA Program?

Arizona's Empowerment Scholarship Account (ESA) program provides K–12 students with state education funds deposited directly into a ClassWallet account. Families use those funds for approved educational expenses, including instructional programs like scuba certification.

Every K–12 student in Arizona is eligible, regardless of family income or academic background. Funds range from approximately $7,000–$10,000 per student annually and roll over year to year if unused.

If your family is already enrolled in the ESA program, you can use your ClassWallet funds at Dive Arizona today.

Why Scuba Certification Is an Educational Investment

Scuba diving teaches skills that go well beyond the pool:

  • Marine biology and oceanography: students learn about aquatic ecosystems, dive planning, and how pressure and buoyancy work underwater
  • Physical education: diving builds breath control, cardiovascular fitness, and full-body coordination
  • Water safety: certified divers learn rescue awareness, emergency procedures, and situational judgment underwater
  • Confidence and independence: kids who earn their certification walk away with a tangible, lifelong skill and a real sense of accomplishment

Our SDI youth programs are structured, skill-based, and taught in small groups, exactly the kind of hands-on, real-world instruction ESA families are looking for.

Who Can Get Certified?

  • Seal Team (ages 8+): Pool-based introductory program, kids earn dive achievements in a safe, controlled environment
  • Junior Open Water Diver (ages 10–14): Full open water certification, cleared to dive to 40 feet with a certified adult
  • Open Water Diver (ages 15+): Full adult certification, cleared to dive to 60 feet worldwide

All courses are taught through Scuba Diving International (SDI), a globally recognized certifying agency.
